About Mina & Maud.

The history.

I'm Tamsien, founder of Mina & Maud and life-long creative mess-maker. As a child growing up in regional Victoria, I loved stories - whether written in the pages of books, contained in the history of objects, or even hiding inside other people. Now as an adult living on the windy Bellarine Peninsula, I've turned that love into Mina & Maud, a small business with the goal of helping you to tell your own story through journaling or expressing it as art.

Mina & Maud was named in honour of two women who have encouraged and inspired my creativity throughout my life. Mina, for my great grandmother, who wrote the most beautiful poems and cultivated a garden that felt like walking through a song. She showed me that the most important part of any creative endeavour is that it comes from your heart. Maud, for my grandmother, a teacher who nurtured my love of reading and wove tales that sparked my curiosity about the world. She taught me that everyone and everything has a story that matters.

Mina & Maud grew out of a desire to pass on this legacy of gentle encouragement and joyful creation from the heart to anyone whose creative soul needs a little nourishing.

Motivation together.

I've found that creating with other people - whether in person or over video call - provides the motivation I need to create. That's why I host monthly online Crafternoon sessions, to help me (and you!) make new friends, tap into that creative spark, and make something wonderful. If you'd like to join the next Mina & Maud Crafternoon (and receive some helpful creative prompts!) sign up to my newsletter.

Confidence in creativity.

My focus with Mina & Maud is to nurture a digital space where everyone can feel safe, supported, and welcome. That's why I'm developing a series of skill-building content and courses designed to encourage and support your creative journey. I will be announcing these courses in my newsletter, so sign up today. In the meantime, you can check out all my video tutorials and blog posts for advice.

Inspiring ourselves.

Every collection in the Mina & Maud shop tells a story. Each object is chosen with care, and helps inspire, delight, and motivate me in my creative journaling practice. I believe that ideas are meant to be explored, and that your single greatest source of inspiration is yourself. I hope that these items help guide you in your creative journey as they do me.
